For instance, if a supplier has a BBB lightning bolt rating of 4, an Illinois lightning bolt rating of 2, a Texas lightning bolt rating of 3, and no rating in New York's rating system, it's overall lightning bolt rating is 3 [(4 + 2 + 3) / 3].

Deceiving

Reviewed May 6, 2012

Initially, when I first switched over to Direct Energy as a service provider, I had a lower bill as promised. After a couple of months, the bill jumped up by roughly $80 and has been climbing steadily since. There is the initial savings and no long-term gain from it.

Review for Direct Energy

Reviewed April 13, 2012

I recently switched to direct energy from another company that I cannot recall the name of. Since the Comed monopoly was broken up I have been getting offers and taking them. Overall the rate usually goes down significantly at first and then levels out to what it was before you switched (over the span of a year). So far everything is fine.

Thanks for the comment Malina. It sounds like you are on a variable rate plan. We also have fixed and green rate plans if you are interested.

Kind regards,

Eric
