I was looking to switch power providers and came across Acacia. Saw they had a promo going with 2 weeks no charges (Still have to pay distribution charges, which they were clear about up front). Signed up, they gave me a $20 credit up front + the 2 weeks free, so I did not have to pay anything on day 1. I added $25 the next day online (Easy to do) and $75 a few days later. The day after that payment I got a $5 credit for paying $75. (For $150 you get $10 I believe). My balance is $105.53 after 7 days! I have spent $19.47 in 7 days on a 3100sq ft. house! I found more reviews after I had signed up which started to make me really nervous, but thus far, I have not had any of the issues others describe.

I wasted 200$ in 1 month thanks to them. I have a studio apartment and hardly had lights or ac on. I canceled after a month and they said I had 23$ left in my account and they would send it to me. I waited a week and called AGAIN„ they argued that I only had 13$ so I told them to send it to me today. The service rep said they sent it and I waited 2 weeks. I called today and they said I had 3$ because they took 10$. I asked them why and they said the 30$ they credited me had to be paid back. I WAS NEVER TOLD THIS! I will not reccomend them to anyone.

I went with Acacia b/c they portray themselves as working for the customer ... that they will work with the customers, etc. Not the case. Hidden fees. Terrible customer service. I signed up with Acacia Energy a year ago and they have been a very reliable and easy company to work with. They were a lot of help when I first signed on as their customer and they still help me! I haven't had a late fee yet because I get their phone call server to remind me of bills. Sometimes I wish their customer service was faster, but that's just me being impatient. They've always picked up within the first 3 minutes of me waiting.
