You might recall an article we published on our blog, in May of this year, regarding the ComEd electricity rate increase!? As a quick recap…prices surprisingly dropped during the summer by 10%, making many ComEd customers happy. However, we knew those rates were too good to be true and wouldn’t last forever as there was already much talk about ComEd hiking their rates back up in the Fall of 2012.
ComEd customers can expect the increase in electricity rates to hit this October and will stay elevated until May of 2013. Customers will notice an 11% increase in their electricity rates which is an additional 1% increase from where rates were prior to the rate cut in May of 2012. To put this into perspective, customers are currently paying 6.3 cents per kilowatt and next month that rate will increase to 8.32 cents per kilowatt. You could be paying almost 3 cents less per kilowatt with an alternative supplier!
We are here to remind you that you have a choice when it comes to your electric supplier and we are happy to assist with the switch process as well as help you make the right decision when exercising that choice. Visit www.Power2Switch.com to lock in a lower rate before the increase in October.
